
Traffic backed up on the Don Holt Bridge in South Carolina

A truck driver was struck and killed by a motorist on the Don Holt Bridge in North Charleston, South Carolina today.
The driver's truck was disabled on the bridge when he exited the tractor-trailer and was struck by a passing motorist, who police say fled the scene. The incident occurred near the North Rhett Avenue Exit at about 7:45 a.m.., shutting down traffic on Interstate 526 until about 11 a.m.
The truck driver's identity was not disclosed.
The Don Holt Bridge carries I-526 over the Cooper River between Charleston and North Charleston.
