Authorities have identified the trucker who died when his truck crashed into a wall on the Delaware Memorial Bridge and plunged into the river below late last week.

nj.com reports a Delaware River and Bay Authority spokesperson identified the driver as Zair Murzakov, 35, of Brooklyn. The bobtail truck is registered to XFR8 LLC of West Chester Township, Ohio.

The crash occurred Friday, July 11, at about 3:40 a.m. The truck crossed three lanes of southbound traffic, struck a concrete wall and fell into the Delaware River below. No other vehicles were involved.

Searchers located the truck in 20 feet of water Saturday morning, July 12. Murzakov's body was inside the truck.

The 440-foot tall toll bridge carries about 100,000 vehicles a day on eight lanes of Interstate 295 and U.S. 40 over the river. It connects New Jersey and Delaware.

Investigation into the crash continues.
