The computer problem that caused major delays for commercial traffic crossing from New York into Ontario, Canada appears to have been resolved.

Truck traffic stalled starting Monday night for trucks heading toward the border at several entry points.

Traffic was backed up at the Peace Bridge near Buffalo, stretching on to Interstate 190, since late Monday night. Trucks were also backed up at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge and filled up all three lanes of I-190.

The backup was only a problem for commercial traffic, and was corrected today.

In a statement, the Canadian Border Services Agency said:

"The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is experiencing a system outage causing delays in commercial processing at ports of entry in the Southern Ontario Region. We are working closely with IT partners to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Primary inspection lanes (PIL) at Peace Bridge and Queenston-Lewiston bridge have been staffed with officers to process traffic and shipments. We are actively working with our partners at the Peace Bridge Authority and the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission to assist with traffic control. We thank commercial drivers for their cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience."
