In an incident last week, police in Wyoming investigated a truck driver involved what appears to have been a road gare-related shooting incident that occurred in the southcentral part of the state.
The Buffalo Bulletin reports the driver of a tractor-trailer was taken into custody after an alleged road rage incident on Interstate 80 about 20 miles east of Rawlins on Thursday, Nov. 20.
According to state troopers, a Ram pickup was westbound on I-80 and passing a semi-truck near mile marker 236. The tractor-trailer driver allegedly brandished a firearm, pointed it out the driver-side window at the pickup and fired the weapon multiple times.
The pickup driver kept the semi in their sight before exiting the interstate and stopping at the Rawlins Wyoming Department of Transportation office, where the driver spoke with troopers.
Troopers confirmed there was a bullet hole in the front passenger side door. Officers also learned there was a child in the backseat of the vehicle. No one was injured during this incident.
Troopers located the tractor-trailer at mile marker 190 and stopped the vehicle. Troopers conducted a search of the truck, locating a firearm in the truck, along with two spent rounds. The semi-truck driver was then taken into custody.
This incident is under investigation and charges are pending.
