Between 30 and 40 tractor-trailers were involved in a massive 100-vehicle pileup in western Michigan today.
Michigan State Police said the crash occurred at about 10:19 a.m. on Interstate 196 southwest of Grand Rapids.
I-196 was closed in both directions between exits 62 and 55.
Troopers said there were numerous injuries, but none appeared to be serious. There were no fatalities.
The National Weather Service reported there was lake effect snow and winds up to 40 mph creating blizzard-like conditions at the time of the crash. A winter weather advisory is in place until Tuesday morning.
Buses were being used to ferry people to a warming station at a nearby school.
