TEL orders 400 Volvo VNLs
Volvo Trucks announced recently it has received an order for 400 all-new Volvo VNLs from TEL, one of the largest fleet leasing providers in the U.S. This marks one of the largest Volvo VNL orders to date, according to the company.
American TEL provides heavy-duty trucks to fleets and owner-operators across North America. Their investment in 400 Volvo VNL 860 sleepers is one of the largest to date for Volvo Trucks in North America. Volvo said the order reflects a growing trend among major transport companies to upgrade their fleets to improve fuel economy, safety, driver comfort and uptime.
“This significant order for the all-new Volvo VNL reflects the confidence fleets have in our flagship platform,” said Peter Voorhoeve, president of Volvo Trucks North America. “One year into production, the real-world performance of the new VNL is delivering measurable results in fuel efficiency, safety and driver comfort."
Production of the VNL began in the fourth quarter of 2024 at Volvo’s assembly plant in Dublin, Virginia, and today approximately 15,000 VNLs are in commercial traffic across the U.S. and Canada, according to Volvo.
