Kansas association introduces its 6 new Road Team Captains

The Kansas Motor Carriers Association recently announced the new members of its corps of Road Team Captains.

In a social media post, the KMCA said that for the first time since 2018, the association has a full team of Kansas Road Team Captains.

The KMCS said the six "outstanding professional drivers" will represent the trucking industry at schools, events, and in communities across Kansas through 2028.

The 2026–2028 Kansas Road Team includes:
  • Mark Carver – FedEx Freight | 18 years, 2.75 million accident-free miles, 2025 National TDC Straight Truck Champion
  • Joe Ortiz – Frito-Lay Transportation | 11 years, 885,000+ accident-free miles, driver trainer 
  • Christopher Noble – Walmart Transportation | 32 years, 3.8 million safe miles, certified driver trainer, and new driver mentor
  • Richard Johnson – FedEx Freight | 15 years, multiple KS TDC first-place finishes 
  • Josue Rivera – Old Dominion Freight Line | 22 years, 1.6 million safe miles, 2x KS TDC champion, new driver trainer 
  • Scott Reich – Frito-Lay Transportation | 33 years, 2 million+ miles, 2025 KS TDC 3-axle champion, driver trainer and member of the safety team and accident review team
The KMCA offered special thanks to outgoing Captains Brian Baldwin and Stephen Caudill of Old Dominion Freight Line for their outstanding service.
 
"These drivers don’t just haul freight — they carry the reputation of an entire industry. We couldn’t be prouder," said the association.
