The Colorado Department of Transportation plans to build a new rest area on Interstate 25 at exit 108 just north of Pueblo.
The new rest area will be built just west of the interchange serving both directions of I-25, and will have 50 truck parking spaces. IKt's part of a project to improve the exit 108 interchange.
CDOT said the project is designed to improve safety, increase operational efficiency, and allow for a safer travel experience. This includes local residents, long-distance travelers, businesses and freight operators.
The new rest area facility will restroom facilities, nine picnic shelters and one large picnic area, and a fenced pet relief area.
