August is a great month for truck shows with several major events happening across the country.
Among this month’s shows are two staged by organizations preserving historic trucks, and a couple that raise money for worthy causes.
On Thursday through Sunday owners and fans of Brockway trucks will gather in Homer, New York near the ancestral home of the brand in Cortland, just south of Syracuse on Interstate 81.
The 26th annual National Brockway Truck Show features a variety of events, including a parade and show on Saturday.
Brockways were built in Cortland from 1912 to 1977. The company was acquired by Mack in 1956, and was known for its distinctive Husky dog hood ornament.
Fans of old iron will also get a chance to see plenty of it at the 22rd annual Brooks Truck Show Aug. 21 and 22 at the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum in Brooks, Oregon.
The museum has an impressive collection of heavy duty trucks produced in the Northwest. The museum also features trucks built for the region’s logging industry.
Interestingly, the museum also has a massive collection of monkey wrenches, and a collection of toy trucks.

Badger State Truck'N Show: Friday and Saturday at the Badger Steam and Gas Grounds in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Carlisle Truck Nationals: Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, featuring over 2,700 show trucks.
Truck N For A Cause: Saturday and Sunday is a charity event supporting the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. Held in Wenona, Illinois.
806 Big Rig Roundup :Aug. 14 and 15 in Dalhart, Texas. The event includes live musical entertainment, food trucks, vendors and a truck light contest.
The Midwest Classic: Aug. 14 and 15 at the Burt County Fairgrounds in Oakland, Nebraska. The show includes live music and fireworks.
NHRDA Big Sky Truck Fest: Aug. 14 and 15 at the Yellowstone Dragstrip in Acton, Montana. Aside from the truck show, the event features drag races, dyno testing, and a burnout contest.
Great Salt Lake Truck Show: Aug. 14 and 15 at the Thanksgiving Point Electric Park in Lehi, Utah. All proceeds from the show benefit the Truck Show Family Kidney Kamp, hosted by the Kidney Foundation of Utah and Idaho.
Keystone LargeCarMag Nationals: Aug. 28 and 29, at the Lebanon Valley Exposition Center and Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. A highlight is the “Mitch Bewley Memorial parade of lights” Friday night, and truck pulls.
