Indiana places 589 drivers, 683 vehicles out of service in 30-days

During a recent 30-day period, the Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (CVED) performed almost 5,000 commercial motor vehicle inspections.
 
From Aug. 15 to Sept. 15, the CVED performed 4,789 inspections, which resulted in:
  • 589 drivers placed out of service
  • 683 vehicles places out of service
  • 9,441 violations cited
  • 31 oversize violations
  • 267 overweight violations
The CVED also issued:
  • 1,051 speeding violations
  • 267 failure to obey a traffic control device violations
  • 50 failure to read and speak English violations
