A quick-thinking passerby Monday (March 16) helped save a truck driver’s life by throwing rocks at the truck that had burst into flames on I-90 in western New York. According to media reports, the driver of a dump truck filled with rocks had a tire blow out, which sent the truck into a guardrail. The truck flipped and the guardrail pierced the fuel tank causing the fire, which trapped driver Larry Coulter in his cab and closed the NY State Thruway. Motorist Ed Brunner witnessed the accident, stopped and started throwing stones from the overturned truck. He managed to smash the truck’s  windshield and helped rescue Coulter. What prompted Brunner’s actions? He told a local TV station: â€śI did it because I saw another man who needed my help. God put me there for a reason. Thankfully I was able to break the window.” See a further interview.
