Proposed monument to Desert Storm from abovePilot Flying J is helping honor those who served by giving $100,000 to help build the National Desert Storm War Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
“On behalf of our 26,000 team members, we believe this donation is one small way that we can demonstrate how proud we are of the men and women who serve,” said Pilot Flying J CEO Jimmy Haslam.
In March, the memorial was approved by President Trump. Its design incorporates a “flat hook” shape that depicts the “left hook” maneuver that helped bring the war to a conclusion and minimized the loss of life in coalition forces, according to a statement from the organizers.
“We anticipate building this memorial in record time,” said Scott Stump, CEO of the organization building the memorial. “The support from companies like Pilot Flying J and their employees is instrumental in bringing our dream into reality. We thank them for their generosity.”
