National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is in full swing.

The weeklong celebration of America’s truckers includes free food, video tributes, prizes, contests and a slew of “thank yous” on social media.

In celebration of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Rand McNally has launched a Photo “Haul” of Fame contest. The company is asking drivers to share photos of what inspires them while on the road.

To be eligible to win, entrants must hold a valid CDL and submit a photo they’ve taken that truly captures life on the road for them. The entry period is now through Saturday, Sept. 15.

The public can vote for their favorite photo every day through Sept. 23.

The winners will be announced on Sept. 24.

Prizes include:

  • First Place: Rand McNally OverDryve 8 Pro, ClearDryve200 headphones/headset, Deluxe Motor Carriers Road Atlas, $100 in Pilot Flying J gift cards
  • Second Place: ClearDryve, Deluxe Motor Carriers Road Atlas, $100 in Pilot Flying J gift cards
  • Third Place: ClearDryve, Deluxe Motor Carriers Road Atlas, $50 Pilot Flying J card

Oregon truck stop has free BBQ Wednesday

Jubitz Truck Stop and Travel Center holds a free barbecue to honor truck drivers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12. During Jubitz Driver Appreciation Day, anyone with a CDL can enjoy lunch, visit vendors and win prizes.

In the past, prizes have included flat-screen TVs and mountain bikes.

Jubitz is located at 10210 N Vancouver Way not far from I-5 and 99E.

Free food for truckers

Clearwater Travel Plaza of I-94 in Clearwater, Minnesota will be offering free food to thank drivers today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Minnesota Trucking AssociationPpresident John Hausladen and Chairman Mel Simon will be there from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to hang out as well.

WTA feeds drivers breakfast and lunch

The Washington Trucking Association is feeding truckers today. The WTA serves breakfast and lunch to all truck drivers, in appreciation of their continuous hard work in “Moving America’s Economy Forward”, beginning at 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. today Sept. 11 at the I-5 northbound Scatter Creek rest area, just north of Centralia.
