Tanker crash causes huge fire; driver dies

The driver of a tanker carrying 9,000 gallons of gasoline died when his truck crashed and caught fire on Highway 99 in Atwater, California Tuesday, May 23. KFSN-TV reports the California Highway Patrol said the truck is owned by Williams Tank Lines out of Stockton. The identity of the driver has not been released. The crash is said to have occurred as the truck was exiting Highway 99 at Applegate Road.
