A truck driver was injured in an apparent road age incident on I-435 in Kansas City, Missouri Friday morning.

Numerous media reports say the driver, who has not yet been identified, was cut by flying glass after several shots fired by the driver of a gold GMC pickup truck entered the passenger side window and shattered the driver’s side window. The driver also told police the pickup’s driver first threw a water bottle at his truck.

The incident took place at about 8:30 a.m. on southbound I-435 at near Blue Parkway. The tractor/trailer driver said he was trying to change lanes when the incident took place.

The investigation continues.

Last month a truck driver and Army veteran who served three tours in Iraq was shot and killed in Omaha, Nebraska in what may have been an incident of road rage. James Womack, 32, was shot in the back three times near the truck he drove for Hill Brothers Transportation Monday, Sept. 18.

In another incidence of road rage, a truck driver told police in North Carolina that another motorist blasted him with pepper spray during a highway encounter Oct. 3.
