One Wisconsin trucking company wanted to show its support of U.S. service veterans by wrapping trucks to salute the five branches of the military. Still, they wanted to do more.
CTS trucks wrapped to honor veteransContract Transport Services, Inc., which is headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, recently showed off the five cabs honoring the different branches of the military. In addition, the company announced it would donate to local charities that benefit local veterans 2 cents for each loaded mile these trucks drive.
“CTS is a strong, local company committed to helping the community,” said Curt Reitz, president of CTS. “Our goal is to give back as much as we can to the local men and women who have sacrificed so much for the well-being of our country.”
The charities that will benefit from CTS’s generosity include:
- Fox Valley Veterans Council, which provides emergency funding for basic needs – like housing, utility payments, clothing, food, and transportation – to area veterans, their dependents, their survivors, and those still serving;
- Northeast Wisconsin Veterans Treatment Court, which helps veterans acclimate to society through a mentor program and employment assistance, as well as treatment plans to cope with the challenges brought on by war
- Help to Heal, a camp at Big Carr Lake in Oneida County that provides rest and relaxation to veterans and their families suffering from all types of service-related health and psychological issues.
CTS is also working with these charities and the Northeast Wisconsin Military Officers Club to create a scholarship fund for the children of veterans who have lost a parent in Iraq or Afghanistan.
“This is one of the best ways we can think of to support our local veterans,” Reitz said. “Many trucking companies look to hire veterans, and CTS is taking the initiative to help them. For that, we are very proud.”
The trucks that have been wrapped honor the Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. In addition to logging thousands of miles on Midwest roadways, they will be seen in parades across the area this year.
