"Mack Trucks' unwavering support has been instrumental in the success of these programs,” said Chris Spear, president and CEO of ATA. “Their commitment to safety and to our veterans exemplifies the best of our industry.”
The Share the Road program utilizes a Mack Anthem 70-inch Stand Up sleeper model, equipped with the latest safety technologies, to educate motorists on safely sharing highways with heavy-duty vehicles. Professional drivers, many with more than one million accident-free miles, demonstrate critical safety aspects, such as stopping distances and blind spots.
The Share the Road Mack Anthem is equipped with a 13-liter Mack MP8 505C engine, delivering 505 horsepower and 1,860 lb.-ft. of torque. It features a 12-speed Mack mDRIVE automated manual transmission, Bendix Wingman Fusion collision mitigation system and Mack Road Stability Advantage by Bendix.
Through the Workforce Heroes program, recognizable by its camouflage-wrapped Mack Anthem, ATA provides recruitment and training for military veterans to join the trucking industry. Driven by Share the Road professionals, this vehicle makes appearances at schools, career fairs and military bases.
The Workforce Heroes Mack Anthem is powered by a Mack MP8HE-415SE engine, providing 415 horsepower and 1,660 lb.-ft. of torque. Like its Share the Road counterpart, it's equipped with the Mack mDRIVE automated manual transmission, which is standard on all Anthem models.
