Two Henderson Trucking drivers who assisted a family whose baby was accidentally locked in a vehicle are being celebrated as Highway Angels by the Truckload Carriers Association.

Cody Crisler of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Kenneth Meekins of Norwood, Missouri, had just finished dinner together with another Henderson Trucking colleague on June 7 in Fairview Heights, Illinois. As they walked across the parking lot, they saw a couple and little girl locked outside of their pickup truck. The couple’s young daughter had accidentally locked their baby inside and the couple had broken the antenna off their truck and was trying to pry open the window to unlock the door. Coming to their aid, Crisler used a pry bar to wedge open the window while Meekins held the gap open so the father could use the antenna to press the door’s unlock button.

Crisler and Meekins each received a Highway Angel certificate, patch, lapel pin and truck decals.
