Two Volvo recalls cover over 25,000 trucks

recall

More than 25,000 vehicles are included in two recalls of Volvo Trucks North America trucks, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The first recall includes 24,848 trucks. It was prompted by the t-bolt clasps on the transmission auxiliary air tank traps possibly being overtightened. This resulted in a potential deformation to the strap where the t-bolt is anchored. This could cause the t-bolt to disconnect from the strap, allowing the tank to drop to the ground.

Trucks included in this recall are model year 2019-2020 Volvo VAH, VHD, VNL and VNR models.

Volvo will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the air tank strap if necessary for free. Owners can contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-528-6586 with recall number RVXX1904. NHTSA’s recall number is 19V-510.

The other recall covers 235 model year 2018-2020 Volvo VAH, VHD, VNL and VNR models. It was issued for the possibility that the fuse in the transmission circuit could blow, preventing the transmission from shifting.

Volvo will notify affected truck owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the fuse for free, if necessary. Owners can contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-528-6586 with recall number RVXX1903. NHTSA’s recall number is 19V-509.
