Classic brisket isn’t just for folks with fancy barbecue pits. Your slow cooker can have brisket ready for you when you park your truck for the night.

The Kitchn’s slow cooker brisket recipe doesn’t require any browning of the meat ahead of time but you will need a skillet to caramelize the onions and prep the vegetables. This brisket slow cooks with onions, carrots and potatoes to make a complete meal.

This recipe cooks in six to eight hours and yields enough servings for leftovers. The leftovers should keep for up to a week.
