Before there were trucks, America’s heavy haulers were oxen, and 44 of them made a return appearance recently to help move a historic schoolhouse. This short move occurred recently in Brownington, Vermont when an 1823 school house was moved a third of a mile to the village’s historic district. But, in the interest of full disclosure, the bovines got a boost from the motorized platform used to move the 105-ton building, according to US News & World Report.
