Renovations are underway at the Kenly 95 Petro truck stop in Kenly, North Carolina.

The truck stop is part of the Iowa 80 Group and is already the largest on the East Coast. It’s expanding on its existing space with the addition of more retail showroom space and enlarging the bathroom facilities. The bathroom renovations will include two sides to the men’s restrooms and two sides to the women’s restrooms, allowing for easier access for cleaning.

“We tore our bathroom facility for the main building down to the dirt and are rebuilding it at twice the size,” said Ernie Brame, general manager at Kenly 95 Petro. Brame said the bathrooms will be completed by March 24.

Temporary facilities have been brought in for guest use while the bathroom area is under construction.

The showroom expansion will include the addition of a full size tractor on a turntable in the front corner, as well as the addition of a full size tractor trailer. The truck stop plans to expand on driver supplies, grocery, its convenience area and more.

Construction was recently completed on Taco Bell and Pizza Hut Express, both now open at the truck stop.
