The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration holds an educational event to explain implementation of electronic logging devices Wednesday, Oct. 11 and Thursday, Oct. 12 at the Davis Travel Center off I-95 in Stony Creek, Virginia.

A statement from the FMCSA said staff will be available to discuss ELDs and answer questions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT each day. In addition, a there will be a presentation for drivers from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day.

On both days, FMCSA personnel will host a driver-focused presentation on ELD implementation with an opportunity for participants to ask questions. Presentation topics include:

  • Who’s covered and who’s exempt from the ELD rule
  • How to choose a compliant ELD
  • Knowing the difference: AOBRD vs. ELD
  • How to comply by December 18, 2017

If you cannot make it to the event, you can view Wednesday’s presentation online.

The deadline remains Dec. 18 for conversion from paper logs to ELDs. Truckers last week staged protests against ELDs.
