Audible, Inc. has just released Tim Robbins’s audio interpretation of Ray Bradbury’s classic work of fiction, Fahrenheit 451. The book, originally published in 1953, tells of a futuristic society where books are outlawed and burned. This new performance by Academy Award winner Robbins is one of four recordings of Bradbury’s works produced in association with the Bradbury Estate. Other Bradbury titles also newly available are Something Wicked This Way Comes, narrated by Christian Rummel, and The Martian Chronicles, narrated by Mark Boyett, as well as a new recording by Jonathan Davis of the Bradbury story The Playground, which was part of the original hardcover edition of Fahrenheit 451. It was made into a 1966 movie starring Julie Christie and Oscar Werner.
Check out the somewhat dated trailer for the film.
