The start of a new year is not that far off, but before it arrives it seems to make sense to do a quick rewind and look at all that went on in 2014.

The most-read news stories of the year ranged from regulatory changes to a truckload of chickens left to rot in Montana to a Canadian truck driver who was ticketed for parking in his own driveway.
