Two movies that won Academy Awards earlier this week are now available on DVD.
Nominated for five Oscars, this is the story of a nasty music teacher who motivates his honors jazz orchestra — including an ambitious young drummer, played by Miles Teller — through fear and humiliation. J.K. Simmons (the guy from the Farmer’s Insurance commercials and Law & Order), won the best supporting actor award for his role as that music teacher. The film did not win the award for best picture.
A kid turns an inflatable robot into a weapon and his nerdy friends into a superhero group. This Disney computer-animated movie was based on a Marvel comic book, and won the Oscar for best animated feature.
