Listen to This: ‘Pancho & Lefty’ revisited (in a way) for 2015

Merle Haggard & Willie Nelson together again on “Django & Jimmie”

If you have been waiting for some new music to fuel your next trip down the highway, wait no more. Our favorite pair of grizzled, old country kickers are back as Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard deliver
Django & Jimmie today. This marks the sixth time these two have collaborated, and the 14-cut CD showcases the work of both men and several other songwriters. A standout cut is the Bob Dylan classic, Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright. The title comes from a song about two other great musicians jazz guitar great Django Reinhardt and Jimmie “The Singing Brakeman” Rodgers. The first release from the album has been making noise — with a sly wink — of late: It’s All Going to Pot. Also worthy of note is The Only Man Wilder Than Me, which Haggard could say about Nelson and vice versa. Here’s the full list of songs, who wrote them and the running times.
