Several classics (and some weirdness) streaming on Amazon in July

It’s probably a good thing that summer is about to arrive, bringing with it long, leisurely vacations and drowsy afternoons during which you can turn up the AC, pour a cold beverage and binge the day away on great – and not so great – entertainment.

Yeah, right!

Summer is just as busy – if not busier – than the rest of the year, so you need to be strategic about what you watch in the little downtime you may have.

Here’s some help: this is what’s coming to Amazon Prime in July, and it’s a mixed bag.

There’ll be some “must see” classics (Dr. Strangelove, Glory, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid), a few favorite guilty pleasures (Flashdance, The Bad News Bears, Dirty Dancing), a little quirkiness (UHF, Wayne’s World 2, Bulworth) and some new faves from TV (Glee, Boardwalk Empire, Downton Abbey, True Blood).
