The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) recently released its annual list of the 100 most congested highway intersections in the U.S.
Now the website Thrillist has issued a list of the 10 worst interstates in the U.S. Using its own formula, Thrillist created a Total Horribleness Index, which ranked a dozen bad locations on what it called “… the soul-crushing, rage-inducing cauldron that is the American interstate system.”
Thrillist’s dirty dozen includes:
12. I-95 and I-195
Providence, RI
11. I-76/Schuylkill Expressway
Philadelphia, Pa.
10. I-376/Parkway East & West
Pittsburgh, Pa.
9. I-880
San Jose, Calif.
8. I-80
San Francisco, Calif.
7. I-35
Austin, Texas
6. I-635/LBJ
Dallas, Texas
5. I-70
Denver, Col.
4. The 405
Los Angeles, Calif.
3. The 610 Loop
Houston, Texas
2. I-10
New Orleans, La.
1. I-66
Washington, D.C.
Those are nothing compared to this 30-mile-long traffic jam in Africa.
Just to balance things out, Thrillist also lists The 12 Most Fun Stretches of Road in America.
