If you’ve been used to having a footlong sandwich at Subway and paying just $5, you may have to start paying more … if you aren’t already.
Subway announced the $5 footlong it introduced during the economic downturn 10 years ago is being phased out a second time. Some franchisees have the option to continue offering the special price, so it may be hit or miss.
However, in an interview with USA Today, Subway’s CEO Trevor Haynes said the fast food outlet found at many of the truck stops across North America will be offering some new sandwich and beverage choices. The chain is also experimenting with paninis.
