When tractor-trailers travel from Maine to locations around the country as part of Wreaths Across America Saturday, one Alabama carrier will be part of the effort for the first time.
Helping get wreaths delivered this year is J & M Tank Lines, Inc., which is based in Birmingham, Alabama.
This is the first year for the company to participate in Wreaths Across America. The company’s involvement was the idea of Andrew Petrofsky, special projects manager for the company that has terminals in Alabama, Georgia, and Texas.
“We’ve known about this cause for many years, and we’re excited to have the resources this year to volunteer,” said Petrofsky, whose grandfather was a veteran. “Our purpose in volunteering is to honor our veterans, active duty military personnel and those who have provided for our country. We’re so thankful to have a team of veterans and active duty personnel at J&M that have given back to their country,”
J & M will deliver wreaths to nine cemeteries in Florida.
The company operates 550 pneumatic tanks, 50 food grade tank, and 25 flatbeds.
