There have been many ways that companies and carriers have been part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. There have been all sorts of free lunches, company merchandise and recognition gathers.
But, few carriers have treated their drivers to a concert by a bonafide country music star. Then again, there are few companies like Amazon.
The mammoth online retailer recently staged a concert in Nashville for its truck drivers starring Jason Aldean.
The concert was held Monday, Sept. 9, in a pop-up truck stop at Nissan Stadium’s parking lot just off Interstate 40. In the audience were 200 line-haul partners and Amazon truckers.
Aldean, himself a former truck driver, performed six songs, including his new single “Way Back” from his new album, which arrives Nov. 22. He also performed several of his biggest hits including “My Kinda Party,” “You Make It Easy” and “She’s Country.”
Lucky attendees also enjoyed selections from a jerky bar, nacho buffet, a hot dog stand, and Hostess confections.
As part of the event, Aldean made a $25,000 contribution to Truckers Against Trafficking.
