One of the true highlights of the trucking year takes place later this week, as the annual Walcott Truckers Jamboree takes over the Iowa 80 Truck Stop start6ing Thursday.
The three-day event features displays of both custom and classic big rigs, a massive pork chop cook out, and family games, exhibits and vendors. The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum will also hold a 100th birthday party for the 1926 FWD truck, which is part of its collection.
Also featured are a truck lights show and fireworks, A signature event of the jamboree are the Trucker Olympics skills contests.
And, the jamboree is well known for its musical concerts. Headlining this year's jamboree is Little Texas, whcih performs Friday night.
