Driver honored for 3 million miles in 25-year career

XPO Logistics honors veteran driver

Veteran driver Bobby Chilcoat was recently honored by XPO Logistics, Inc. for driving 3 million safe miles during his 25-year career.

“Bobby Chilcoat has joined an elite group of professional drivers, and his accomplishment sets a high standard for safety excellence,” said Hank Bartos, president of truckload for XPO Logistics. “He is one of only four drivers in our truckload operations to achieve 3 million accident-free miles, the equivalent of nearly six accident-free round-trips to the moon. We’re proud to have Bobby drive for XPO.”

Chilcoat, of Moore, Okla., began as a company driver in January 1991 with what is now XPO Logistics’ truckload business.

“I tell drivers to find a company that fits their needs and stay with it,” Chilcoat said. “My company really bends over backwards for its drivers.”

Chilcoat frequently participates in industry competitions designed to showcase the driving skills and safety expertise of truck drivers. In 2015, he took first place in the sleeper berth class of the Missouri State Truck Driving Championships, which earned him a spot in the national finals competition.

XPO’s corporate headquarters is in Greenwich, Conn.
