Signing up to be a bone marrow donor is a simple process.
Among the many booths at this week’s Mid-America Trucking Show are a couple of folks with an important message: the need for people to add their names to the National Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Registry.
Truck driver Tom Kyrk and Christina Schnese, founder of Make It Happen USA, are at the Truckers United for Charities booth #40549 explaining the need for the registry and also helping people learn how to sign up.
Kyrk said this year is more important than ever that people become aware of the need for bone marrow donors. He said, “A fellow driver has joined the list of 14,000 people who each day wait for a donor to save their life and to save their families.”
