3 free resources help you take control of your weight

Losing weight can be a difficult thing. Diet and exercise help, but figuring out how to restructure your driving routine can be complicated.

These three resources are available for free online and can help you get started by telling you how to adjust your caloric intake, activity levels and more:

1. Body Mass Index Calculator

Knowing your body mass index (BMI), a measurement of body fat, can help you know where you fall in the BMI categories of underweight, normal weight, overweight or obese. BMI is calculated based on height and weight.

2. SuperTracker

SuperTracker, created by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, creates a personalized nutrition and physical activity plan for you. Outside of being just another food and activity tracker, it has a food nutrition database with information on over 8,000 foods and offers weight management guidance.

3. Body Weight Planner

This online body weight planner calculates how you need to balance your food and activity to reach a certain goal weight within a specified time frame. It’ll give you how many calories you should be eating each day to reach your goal, plus how many you’ll need to maintain that goal weight once you reach it.
