Trucker hauling wine arrested for, yes, drunk driving

New York State Police last week arrested a trucker on charges of drunk driving … who happened to be hauling a trailer filled with wine.

Troopers Friday (March 27) arrested Jae Ehrgood, of Pennsylvania on I-81 south near Kirkwood, NY. They had received reports of a tractor-trailer swerving, then followed Ehrgood before eventually stopping him.

The Press & Sun Bulletin reports the driver had a blood alcohol level that was more than three times the legal limit. His blood alcohol content was .25. The legal limit is .08. He was arrested for aggravated drunk driving and ticketed for unsafe lane changing.

Ehrgood reportedly was carrying 80,000 lbs. of wine.
