The Federal Highway Administration will hold four workshops later this year to discuss the country’s truck parking shortage, the agency announced last week at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville.
The workshop dates and locations are:
- June 8 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Utah Trucking Association headquarters
- Aug. 25 in Dallas, Texas at the Great American Truck Show
- Oct. 5 in Grain Valley, Missouri at the OOIDA headquarters
Details for the fourth workshop have not been announced, but it is expected to be scheduled for either July or September.
Access to the workshops will be limited to allow for an even mix of trucking industry representatives. Workshop attendees will be sought through partnerships with organizations, according to Thomas Phelan, managing director for the consulting firm of Vanesse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.
“We’re going to be kind of controlling the attendance at this,” Phelan said. “The information coming out of it is going to be more important than the participation at the event.”
