Six trucks caught fire Monday afternoon in a truck lot in Tolleson, Arizona.
This follows two recent truck lot fires in West Sacramento, California in which nine trucks were destroyed or badly burned.
The truck lot in Arizona, located near Lower Buckeye Road and 75th Avenue about three miles south of I-10, was filled with thick, black smoke Tuesday afternoon as firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze, reports www.12news.com.
Investigators have not yet released information regarding the cause of that fire.
Five big rigs burned Sunday in a truck lot in Sacramento. The cause of the fire is not known. That blaze follows one that occurred a month earlier in another truck lot about three miles away in which four trucks were destroyed resulting in about $400,000 in damages.
Amar Singh of SMT Repair Services said he’s waiting to hear back from investigators regarding the cause of Sunday’s blaze, which burned three of the five trucks to the ground inside SMT’s truck lot.
“If somebody did it intentionally, it’s sad to see people go to that extent, you know?” Singh told fox40.com.
