Driver in Tracy Morgan crash accepts plea deal

The truck driver charged in the June 7, 2014 crash that injured comedian Tracy Morgan and killed another man Tuesday accepted a plea deal and will not go to trial on 10 different charges connected to the accident.

Numerous media outlets are reporting that Kevin Roper, who was driving for Walmart at the time of the accident on the New Jersey Turnpike, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and four counts of aggravated assault. As part of the deal, Roper will participate in a three-year-long intervention program, which includes 300 hours of community service.

The deal was approved before Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Michael Toto in New Brunswick, New Jersey according to WABC-TV.

Celebrity news website TMZ says the plea bargain comes a week after Walmart reached a settlement with its insurance company. Walmart previously settled with Morgan.
