February kicks off with the annual Mid-West Truck & Trailer Show, this weekend, Feb. 2-3, at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. The show first started in 1962 and is free and open to the public. Registration can be done online or on site.

The show hosts the Truckers Pride Contest. Trucks of all makes, models and years will compete at the show in different classes. A People’s Choice award will be given out to the truck most attendees vote for. A Driver’s Choice award will be given to one winner chosen by the participants of the Truckers Pride contest.

The show also hosts the Pinewood “Big Rig” Derby, which it started in 2013. Members of the Mid-West Trucks Association design and build their own model rig to compete with. Awards are given out for Best Design, Fastest Rig and Best Effort.
