Trucker shot at in Ohio road rage incident

A truck driver was uninjured after a passing motorist fired a gun into the door of his truck while driving on the Lakeland Freeway in Wickliffe, Ohio Thursday.

The News-Herald reports the incident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. when the trucker on the freeway at the East 305th Street on-ramp when he noticed a black older model pickup truck — possibly a Nissan — attempting to enter the freeway. The tractor-trailer driver said he was unable to change lanes because of traffic. Police said this, according to the newspaper, upset the suspect in the pickup, who pulled alongside and fired a shot into the cab of the tractor-trailer.

The suspect in what police are calling a road rage incident exited at the Lloyd Road exit ramp. The victim pulled off to the side of the freeway to call 911.

The trucker was not identified by police.

Wickliffe is locate just off the Lake Erie shore northeast of Cleveland.
