Driver honored for safety record

A driver for a large Missouri carrier was named a driver of the year during an awards program at a technology conference in San Diego recently.

Doug Hager, who drives for American Central Transport, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri, was the winner in the for-hire category at the seventh annual Lytx User Group Conference. Lytx provides driver cameras, fleet management software, and safety programming.

In honoring Hager, a statement from Lytx said, he “has a goal to be the best driver he can be. He strives to always represent his company in a positive light and treat every customer and coworker with respect. He has gone two consecutive years without any coachable events and was recognized as the 2017 ACT Safe Driver of the Year. Hager works diligently to be the safest driver possible and encourages others to do the same by promoting important safety practices across his organization.”

Other for-hire drivers honored by Lytx were:

  • Second place – Edward Perry II of TransAm Trucking
  • Third place – Arvis Dyches Jr. of TransWood
  • For-hire training: Jody Clark of Big M Transportation

The first place winner for private trucking was Earl Brown of Performance Food Group.
