
A truck driver was shot today during an early morning attempted robbery outside of the Acipco Pipe Company in Birmingham, Alabama.
The unidentified driver told police he was standing outside of his truck, parked on the roadway, outside the facility while he waited to enter around 4:01 a.m. Friday, May 10. Three men approached him and asked for his wallet. The trucker told police he attempted to re-enter his truck and was shot in the left leg by one of the suspects after he refused to hand over his wallet. The suspects fled.
The driver’s injuries were not life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing as police search for the suspects.
