Operation Southern Shield 2021 began Tuesday, March 2, and continues through Friday, March 5 on interstates 8, 10, and 19 across southern AZ.
During this major enforcement detail, the Arizona Department of Public Safety's Commercial Vehicle Enforcement troopers will be working with the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and local police agencies.
The enforcement blitz targets hazardous violations and includes commercial vehicle inspections. It is meant to raise awareness of human trafficking, and educate drivers on safe and compliant operation
