Driver dies when tractor-trailer leaves I-90, lands on stopped train in SD

A 70-year-old truck driver died earlier this week when the tractor-trailer he was driving plunged off Interstate 90 in South Dakota.

The rig landed on top of a stopped freight train on the tracks below the interstate. Two cars of the train derailed.

South Dakota Highway Patrol, the truck driver was westbound on I-90 when his 2019 Peterbilt and trailer left the highway and in to the median of the bridge.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
