A livestock hauler's truck crashed on Interstate 84  in Connecticut Thursday morning, resulting in the death of 20 of the 44 head of cattle onboard.

The crash occurred on the Exit 10 off-ramp on the westbound side of the interstate near Newtown at around 3:26 a.m. 

Fourteen of the dairy cattle being transported from Maine to Ohio died in the crash. Another six cows were injured, and the state veterinarian ordered state police at the scene to euthanize them. 

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
