Remodeled NYS Thruway service area reopens in Central New York

Another service area on Interstate 90 in New York has been remodeled and is once again open.

The New York State Thruway Authority recently announced the new Oneida Service Area (I-90 eastbound at mile marker 244) in Westmoreland, is now open to the public. The location is the 13th new service area to open to Thruway customers as part of the $450 million private investment to redevelop and modernize all 27 Thruway service areas.

The SchuylerSenecaPembrokeNew Baltimore, ClarenceArdsleyPlattekillClifton SpringsIroquoisIndian CastleChittenango and Junius Ponds Service Areas have all reopened.

Restaurants at the Oneida Service Area include:  

  • Burger King
  • Panera Bread (Coming soon)
  • Starbucks (Drive-Thru)
  • Applegreen C-Store
  • Taste NY Food and Drink Products

Other amenities include:

  • Outdoor seating
  • Dog walking area
  • Private nursing area
  • Digital tourism kiosk (Coming soon)
  • Four level 3 high-speed EV chargers to be added in the future

All 27 service areas are being redeveloped as part of a public-private partnership with Empire State Thruway Partners. No toll or tax dollars are being used for construction.
