Briefly: Florida school district breaks ground for new CDL training program

Groundbreaking for new CDL program

A Florida school district recently broke ground for the construction of a new CDL training facility.

Brevard Public Schools will build the new facility at the Cocoa campus of Brevard Adult and Community Education. It is being funded with a $3.8 million grant from the state.

School officials said the new training facility will help address the need for truckers by local businesses, but also for companies in the entire Southeast.

The CDL training program is expected to be open in June. It will train students for their Class A, B, and C licenses.

Cocoa is located east of Orlando along Florida's Space Coast.
