Inspection effort by NM troopers sidelines 63 trucks, 30 drivers

An inspection effort was completed recently by the New Mexico State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Strike Team.

A statement from the troopers said from Feb. 10 to Feb. 18,  officers conducted 27 level 1 inspections, 248 level 2 inspections, and 91 level 3 inspections. The inspections were conducted in Clayton, which is located in the northeast portion of the state near the Oklahoma and Texas borders. 

The inspections led officers to issue 243 citations. They also placed 63 commercial motor vehicles out of service. They also placed 30 drivers out of service.

 The troopers said they will continue to conduct operations like this throughout the year.
